Nepali women rape case: Social activist Sangwan seeks strong legal action against rapist diplomat

Expressing shock over the alleged rape of two Nepalese women by a Saudi diplomat, social activist Jagmati Sangwan on Wednesday demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.




“Strong action should be taken although there is international law and immunity for the ambassadors. Despite all this, legal course should be taken and at the same time we feel that a thorough investigation should be conducted,” Sangwan told ANI.

This is a very shocking incident and recently all the data indicate that trafficking of women, sexual misuse is on increase and if people of such position are to be seen involved in such acts than definitely it is going to increase,” she added. The two women were rescued from the diplomat`s apartment in Gurgaon.
